    A good quality Roman intaglio from the 2nd to 3rd century C.E. carved into a carnelian stone with a naked male figure standing next to a column surmounted by an urn, the intaglio is set in a gold ring. On the figure’s left is a thyrsus, a religious and ceremonial staff that was carried by devotees of Dionysus, it was a sacred instrument used at religious rituals and fête, so this could be a representation of the Deity himself.
